I've Been Missing (and missing you all)

I haven't had the time or the heart to do any blogging in quite a while. For those of you that don't know about it, just a few days after the first of the year my sister was diagnosed with a very aggressive and invasive type of brain tumor. She had surgery last week to slow its progress but didn't come through it as well as they had hoped she would. She is slowly making progress and we are hoping she will regain her speech and awareness that family is with her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

This is my weekend of working a stretch of 4 night shifts at the hospital. It's been obscenely cold here in Minnesota, barely making above zero for highs during the day. You might think that these cold temperatures would have kept people home and out of trouble but the emergency room has been very busy the last three nights. One more night shift to go- HURRAY!! I should be sleeping but instead I'm watching the NFC championship game. If the Vikings can't be there I'm more than happy to cheer for Green Bay.

I'm keeping up with your blogs as time permits, taking walks with you, enjoying your birds and back yards, smiling at your stories and photographs. Even if I'm not commenting, know that your posts are making me feel connected to the things that I love too and I thank you for that.

It was bloody cold in Buffalo today! -5! I decided to go on a hike anyways as the sky was pristine and the sun was shining. It turned out to be a wonderful, but bone chilling experience.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Best wishes for your sister's recovery.
Stay warm up there! It's been cold here the past few days (stop laughing ;), cold is a relative thing) and we actually got a dusting of snow last night.

Oh, Lynne--these last months have been hard on your family.
Take good care of those around you--and yourself--and know you are thought of daily, by so many who wish you and your sister well.

I'll be praying for your sister and I know these past months must have been so very hard for you. I watch the weather channel and couldn't believe the temperature up there in Minnesota. We're cold here in Erie but not that cold! I was also hoping Green Bay would win until that field-goal kicker missed two goals that would have won it for NYG. Then I felt sorry for him and was hoping he'd get another chance to redeem himself. Otherwise his career would pretty much be over, I'd think. Lucky him. He did it. I didn't really care who won because if the Steelers (I also have a soft spot for the Vikings) weren't in it, it didn't matter. :-(

Phyllis' name was lifted up in prayer yesterday at my church, and I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers Lynne. You do what you need to do now and know we are all here for you. Much love and many hugs.

So sorry to hear that your sister and family are going through another difficult time. Prayers and best wishes going your way.

Wow, Lynne, you have been going through a rough patch. At times like these, it's your friends and loved ones that will help you through. Hold them close. (But I know you already knew that.) A mental trip to Hasty Brook in springtime wouldn't hurt either. My thoughts are with you and I hope you'll been in the mood to post soon but I certainly understand how it it is when the heart just isn't in it. When you're ready, we'll be here. Be well.

Lynne, I'm still praying for your sister to improve, and for you to stay strong in such a trying time. So nice of you to post and let us know how things are going. Hang in there, friend; brighter times should be around the corner for you. Meanwhile, I hope our posts are helping to make you smile.

BTW, I'm really bummed about the Packers!

Hi Lynne,
I've been thinking about you and Phyllis too (prayers going into each row of the afghan I'm working on for Phyllis and something special for you too!)
I'm glad to hear Phyllis is making a little progress.
I was sad about the Packers loss too and couldn't believe those guys were able to stay out on the field for 4 hours in that cold. I was out half an hour doing my bird feeding chores and that was with about 3 layers of warm clothes, hats & big boots--not some skimpy football uniform and shoes.

Linne,

I think of you every day.
Consider yourself hugged in a big, bear-like way. Hang in there, sweetie.

Love,
May

Lynne,
I can't even begin to imagine what you are enduring right now. Just know, I mean really know, that there is support and prayers out here for you. Please remember to take care of yourself, too. You are no good to anyone if you don't. Sometimes nurses, maybe even especially nurses, need to hear that!
God Bless,
Cindy

Lynne--you sure don't need anymore family health issues--but sometimes the proverbial "when it rains, it pours" seems to kick in.
Sorry for your sister, and you.
Here's hoping and praying she rallies.

Oh Lynne . . . . I will keep you, your family and particularly your sister in my thoughts and prayers. My husband's best friend is suffering with the same condition as is the girlhood friend of a close friend of mine.

One day at a time. One day at a time.

Rest and be well. This has been a hard year. Surely Spring will help lighten our hearts. I'll be thinking of you and sending sunny thoughts your way.

Lynne,
I was so sorry to hear about your latest batch of trouble. You know I'm just a mile or so away so please call if you need ANYTHING!
Will you be going on next weekend's birding trip w/Stan & Sharon to get away for a little bit?

Lynne, I will say a special prayer for you and your sister. If there is a balance of karma in the world, you are certainly due for an immense positive balancing event in your life given all that has happened over the past months. Most certainly, your family is in my thoughts.

Dear Lynne,

I'm wishing you the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and hoping that you get a chance to take a long walk and fill your lungs with sweet cold air. We're all rooting for you and your family. Big hugs.
