Little Bird Tree

Birdchick asked if any one had any fun bird ornaments so I thought I'd share a few of mine. We have two Christmas trees, and this little one in our family room holds most of my bird ornaments.
I like this little chickadee peeking out of a mitten. It's really heavy though and is always threatening to fall off the tree.
I found this downy woodpecker at Target last week. She's my favorite new bird.
I bought this funny fat chickadee last year. His feet swing on fat rope legs.
This ornament has two cardinals and a birch log house. One of the cardinals bounces on a spring. Pardon the wren butt!
My honey Art took Monday and Tuesday off work this week. We shopped Monday and wrapped yesterday and we are DONE!!! The house is clean (pretty much...) and the decorating is done. We seem to decorated less and less every year and that's just fine with me. We seem to clutter up pretty quickly at our house and I'm making an effort to change that. We haven't sent cards in a few years either and so far no one has disowned us. As far as baking goes, there are some pretty good bakery cookies at Costco! I do plan to do some baking with the kids during vacation after Christmas. I work nights Thursday through Saturday but I'll get home Sunday morning Christmas eve day and then I'm off! I haven't been off work on Christmas in 4 years. (Why do I work in health care again?) The weather forecast shows freezing rain this afternoon changing to light snow this evening. We really need some snow here. Clean, white snow.

I'm so glad to hear from you because I love reading your posts.

"As far as baking goes, there are some pretty good bakery cookies at Costco!" ...I'm with you on that one!

Your bird ornaments are very nice and I'd like to collect more, too.

Being off on Christmas is a special treat for those who have jobs like yours. My Dad worked on Christmas a lot but every few years, he'd be off and we loved it!

Clean, white snow. Darn. We won' have it. Send pictures, please!

I love your bird ornaments - even the wren butt!
Congratulations on having X-Mas off for a change! I know you're going to really enjoy yourselves!
I'm hoping for a white Christmas. A brown Christmas just doesn't do it for me!

What a special little tree! Great ornaments - can you tell my sister-in-law where you bought them? lol!

Please enjoy your Christmas off, Lynne! Tomorrow is my last day until after New Year's and I can't wait!

I LOVE your ornaments!
The wren's butt made me laugh out loud!

I was in healthcare from the age of 19, until 28. First, it was running a satelite lab, and the Grinch I worked for always made me work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I would sit there and get not ONE patient. Then it was direct care at a MR/DD facility and I never got Christmas off because I had no seniority. Then it was managing a podiatry office, and thank goodness the doctor was a roaring, robo-Catholic and we never had to work on either day!
So glad you get Christmas off, Lynne!

So good to have you back Lynne... we've missed you. I love your bird ornaments, especially the chickadees! I am going to have to find some now that I live on Chickadee Lane! That one in the sock is precious! Glad you are off for the holiday, and hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas. Blessings to you new friend.

Beautiful bird tree, Lynn! I'm inspired to start a collection of bird ornaments now so I can have my own bird tree! :)

I, too, am off after today. 2.25 weeks as the secretary at my school said. We aren't counting the minutes though! :)

Enjoy your break!

Looks like the snow is going to miss us AGAIN! I hope you have better luck!

Did you get your papers graded? Enjoy your time off!

So you've worked your share of Christmases too huh? The wen butt looks like she's flipping us off!

I think you need a chickadee tree! Those little trees will be on clearance soon and there are loads of chickadee ornaments out there. Blessings to you too.

HOORAY for you having 2.25 weeks off!!! Hope you enjoy every second of it!

Wren butt! Too funny! But that's bound to happen on bird trees. I love my bird tree also and have decided it's going to have to get bigger next year. Those birds just keep flocking in! Lovely photos.
