Hasty Brook is the loveliest place in my world. It's a little piece of heaven in northern Minnesota.

I just love Bill's webpage! I only wish he would turn all his post into a blog because it would be a good one for sure!
Love 'em or hate 'em...they are here to stay.
*But I still bang on the window when they come to my feeders*
We had a male at our feeder this morning. I have a certain prejudice against them, but then again I heard a male sing once and it was pretty.
Wow... fascinating facts. An egg laying machine, she is! I, like Susan, always scare them away from my feeders.
Cowbirds are an interesting bird despite their parasitic habits.
I loved the link, Lynne, and didn't know the piedmont area hosts them. I watched cowbirds all winter long. Now they're GONE. Must say I'm happy after reading about their behavior during nesting season.
Wow, have you been busy since I was here last!
Great photos, and what a good idea to go to a park and relax and let the birds come to you.
That was me! This weird comment page came up with a little tiny square to type in, so I did, just to see what would happen! I didn't realize until after there was no place to identify myself.
Your photos always delight me!
The Vermillion Flycatcher is beautiful!!! We spent a week in the AZ desert once, and my best photo was of a Great Horned Owl in the daylight. Years ago (not a digital) but I'm going to look for it now.
Keep posting those beautiful photos!
Mon@rch- Bill's website is terrific!
Susan- me too.
Deb- I've never heard them sing.
Jayne- I never knew they were so prolific!
Larry- they do have an interesting history.
Mary- maybe they're all up here!
Sandy- I've had troublr commenting too. I like the sit and wait method best!
Birdingmom- thanks for visiting! The vermilion flycatcher was gorgeous (not my pic though. I loved AZ and we hope to go back next year.
I rarely see a cowbird here, thankfully. Now if they were beautiful we might forgive them their nasty habits, but they aren't!
Lostroses- not too pretty.
