Hasty Brook is the loveliest place in my world. It's a little piece of heaven in northern Minnesota.
Lynne, this is why I love your blog--you capture bird behavior, something so many of us don't take the time to look at, so well!
Just like people - strutting their stuff :0D You've still got lilacs. Ahhhhhhh.
Deb- That's the most flattering thing anyone's said about my blog. I've always said, for me the best thing about birding is just watching birds be birds. Thank you!!Cathy- They reminded me of a muscle man competition! Our lilacs are on their way out here at home but 150 miles north around Hasty Brook they were just starting to open.
I noticed your lovely lilacs, too!I enlarged every photo, and Lynne, I had to laugh. You DID capture bird behavior again. You do this so well!
these guys are so funny to watch when displaying! We saw some doing this out in a field today! Only wish they wouldn't drop their eggs in the warbler nest!
That last one is hilarious!"Is she watching? Was I butch enough?"
What an entertaining set of photos Lynne!
This is so cool Lynne! You captured them so well!P.S. The ferns are unfurling here - yay!!!
Interesting capture-I second what Deb said.
Great sequence. Looks like a final bow at the end. We have a lot of cowbirds around here this year. Bad reputation, but their nesting habits won't change just because we don't like them.Ruth
