Deb- That's the most flattering thing anyone's said about my blog. I've always said, for me the best thing about birding is just watching birds be birds. Thank you!!
Cathy- They reminded me of a muscle man competition! Our lilacs are on their way out here at home but 150 miles north around Hasty Brook they were just starting to open.
these guys are so funny to watch when displaying! We saw some doing this out in a field today! Only wish they wouldn't drop their eggs in the warbler nest!
Great sequence. Looks like a final bow at the end. We have a lot of cowbirds around here this year. Bad reputation, but their nesting habits won't change just because we don't like them. Ruth

Lynne, this is why I love your blog--you capture bird behavior, something so many of us don't take the time to look at, so well!
Just like people - strutting their stuff :0D You've still got lilacs. Ahhhhhhh.

I noticed your lovely lilacs, too!
I enlarged every photo, and Lynne, I had to laugh. You DID capture bird behavior again. You do this so well!

That last one is hilarious!
"Is she watching? Was I butch enough?"
What an entertaining set of photos Lynne!
This is so cool Lynne! You captured them so well!
P.S. The ferns are unfurling here - yay!!!
Interesting capture-I second what Deb said.
