Lynne, you are now and hereafter to be known as the bird charmer! Who else could get such a beautiful bird to pose for so long? Stunning photographs.

Lynne, you are getting to be a top notch bird photographer! I love these little warblers; most of the time I just hear them but occasionally one will show itself.

Hi Lynne, you have done it again!
Absolutely beautiful photos of
that Black and White Warbler. I
think your work should be published nationally! Seriously.
For fun, you might check out:

Frieberg; there is something about the way they hold their wings.
Yours is a much better shot by the
way.

Seven seconds of a warbler out in the open! You captured it beautifully.

Lynne, all I can say is, "Wow!" Wonderful captures of yet another warbler I've never even seen. (My life list is sorely lacking in the warbler division.)

Just how do you do it?! Those are wonderful. I barely get to focus my eyes on a black and white and it's gone let alone get a photo. Are you pishing?

Lynne,
He is gorgeous and I'm jealous that you got those other 6 seconds..I have only seen a flash of one scooting among the leaves. You did a great job of capturing him in all his glory in such a short time!!

Excellent work with the warbler! Quickest birds around - next to swallows that I can't even track in binoculars, let alone a camera :)

WOW! I love B&Ws -- they're the first warbler I ever ID'd by myself. It was kind-of a gimme, I know--but I was proud!

Wonderfully great photos. How did you get him to sit in that spot. When they sit for me they are behind the leave, or twig, or something.

Great pics! Such a beautiful bird.

FYI:
http://www.walden.org/Institute/thoreau/writings/Misquotations/UseWhatTalent.htm

“Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.”

The first known use, although it was unattributed, is from The Ladies Repository: A Monthly Periodical, Devoted to Literature, Arts, and Religion, September 1874, p. 231. It was reprinted two years later in The Latter-Day Saints’ Millennial Star, number 37, volume XXXVIII (Monday: September 11, 1876) p. 583.

This quotation has also been erroneously and extensively attributed to Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933).
