Thinking Blogger? ME???

I am so flattered that Pam at Nature Woman nominated be for the Thinking Blogger Award. I wholeheartedly agree with her other nominees as they are all among my favorite reads. I've given lots of thought about passing along my nominations and here are my choices:

Larry at The Brownstone Birding Blog is one of my favorite blogs. His bird and song lyric games are a blast (I admit to being a bit obsessive about them!) and he frequently asks questions at the end of his posts welcoming others' opinions and always causing me to think.

Deb at Sand Creek Almanac is one of the first blogs I ever read. She a fellow Minnesotan so immediately my interest was sparked. Her posts are always interesting, often thought-provoking and she is an eloquent writer. I envy her lifestyle and admire her writing talent.

Cathy at Looking Up is a blogger I only met a few months ago but feels like a friend for ages. Her joy for life is woven into every word. She often reminds me to be grateful for things I take for granted.

Mojoman at Moose Hill Journal is a blogger that I always count on to challenge me to think about his posts. He is able to convey his thoughts clearly- I admire that as I seem to agonize over every sentence that I put down! His writing is beautifully descriptive and imaginative and I always look fore ward to "going along" on his trips to Moose Hill.

RuthieJ at Nature Knitter is the newest addition to my blogroll. Another fellow Minnesotan, Ruth's attention to the details of every day life are a pleasant reminder to watch and be aware of what's going on around us as it will enrich our lives. She's also really good at Larry's Song Lyrics Game!

Again, I am so honored to have been nominated and really feel that the five I've listed and all of the rest of you out there that have become part of my daily blogging have enriched and brought color to my life. I never would have dreamed that I would feel so welcomed and that so many strangers that I've never met would become friends.

SO Larry, Deb, Cathy Mojoman and RuthieJ : If you would like to participate in this meme, please choose five of the blogs that make you think, and please put the following participation rules in your post:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

Lynne - Sweet lady - my head is going to out-grow my Mother's Day present: My new Tilley hat :0)

Thank you soooo much. Laurie from DMGFM also nominated me. When I started my blogging a year and half ago - I never dreamed I'd connect with the beautiful, intelligent, funny caring people - that I discovered out here in the ether.

That you find merit in my struggles for coherence and meaning and occasional attempts at humor - is awesome. Problem is I just don't have the mental energy now to participate and also, so many of my favorite 'thinkers' (like you :0) have already received nods. But I'll always participate happily in the 'friend for ages' category. Thanks, Lynne.

Lynne - great job and congratulations. You are a great read, always.

Now I have two new blogs to check out. I might have to quit my job to read blogs.

Hugs

-I wish I hadn't deleted that post-now I have to write it over again.
Lynne-Thank you for picking me as one of your five-I really appreciate it.
I love to read your blog because your personality and humor show through in what you write.
I will think about doing this.-Is there a time limit?

Mon@rch- Thanks, there are so many good folks.

Cathy- You are sweet to say such kind things. You really do inspire me.

Mary- Thanks! Hmm...quit job, read blogs...

Pam- It's neat to meet new bloggers through links. You never know who's out there!!

Larry- Ooops! Where'd it go? Thanks for the compliment. Isn't it cool getting to know folks through their blogging? I don't think there is any time frame in picking five. Please don't feel pressured to do it either. No strings.

Lynne, thank you so much for nominating me. Because I am so new to blogging, I have much to learn yet (including linking to other posts), but as soon as I figure this out, I will be posting my 5 choices for the "Thinking Blogger Award."

Lynne- I'm blushing. :) Seriously, thanks, sometimes I feel like there hasn't been enough "thinking" involved in my posting lately, but who has time to think! I'm honored to be in the company of some fine bloggers I've only just recently gotten to know, and one (RuthieJ) I'll have to check out!

Lynne: Thanks so much for your recognition. Although I don't usually do things like memes on my blog, please know that I appreciate you as one of my most loyal readers. Few people have the patience to wade through my navel-gazing and rather pedestrian wanderings. Knowing I have you as a companion on my walks makes them that much more fun and encourages me to pay more attention to the world around me so I have more to share.

Not to worry: I do plenty of agonizing over my sentences as well. My only skill is patience. I'm not on any schedule, so I can let my thoughts marinate for days, if need be, and eventually a post develops.

Lynne - I just saw you blogging space at Mary's and it made me miss you :0(

It looks so cozy and your comment about having your field guides nearby made me realize that I now rely mainly on the internet for ID's.

Though my Peterson's and Sibleys duke it out on my car's floor - my indoors field guides collect dust due to internet-induced neglect.

Hope your night schedule isn't preventing you from enjoying some of the day's treasures.
