What a cutie! I love nuthatches and the way they can hang virtually upside down! I meant to tell you that I put in a link about the decline of Common Nighthawks on my Nigthhawks post if you are interested. It's an interesting article by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Did you take that photo up at Hasty? Do you have red-breasted huthatches year-round up there? In addition to deer, bears, turkeys and siskins? I am SO JEALOUS!! Perhaps I need you to find me a good realtor in that area......
I am with ruthiej, makes me want to get a place in the same area. It would be a LONG drive for the weekend from Tennessee. Guess I will have to settle for around here. You make it sound so inviting, specially with such great photos to go with the stories.
