Stardust

Art and I went to a movie this afternoon. We don't go often so we both have to agree on the movie choice. Since I'd first heard of this story being created on film, I have looked forward to seeing it. Stardust is all I expected it to be. I would describe the story as a complex fairy tale. There are evil witches, a nasty royal family, weaselly merchants and of course there is a love story. Woven throughout the story is plenty of humor. We both really enjoyed this movie. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
So between Art and me, that's four thumbs up!

We are the same way with movies. There is so much junk out there it is nice to be able to find a good movie. We'll probably make that our next one. Thanks for the tip! We saw the new Bourne movie and we both thought that was excellent. I don't see much on the horizon, though.

I'll have to put my name on the hold list at the library when this comes out on DVD!

Rick & I loved it too, so that would make it 8 thumbs up! Billy the innkeeper made us giggle every time he was on screen. :)

Thanks for the review--I would like to see it too. We had to choose between that and the new Bourne movie this weekend, and we went with Bourne. But at least it was an awesome movie--the best of the three Bourne movies.

I'm not a movie-goer, Lynne, but I love a little comedy and romance. Sounds great to me! I'll remember this one and your 4 thumbs up! If I don't get out, I'll rent it.

I need a good movie now. It's too hot to do anything else but sit.

What a nice thing to do this afternoon Lynne! I haven't heard about this movie, so thanks for the review. Not that I've been to the movies in forever! I do want to see The Bourne Ultimatum in the theatre, though!

I saw the trailer for this 3 times this week (Hairspray!). I thought it might be a bit corny but will likely go with my daughter, who loves fantasy.

Oh, good! Ruth just recommended "Hairspray". I'm in the mood for a movie. If there's plenty of humor here - I'm in!

My wife and I are both big fantasy buffs so we decided to go see this movie. We both thought that it was good but we would recomend it more for rental or cable then a big night out. The comedy portion of the movie was the highlight. It has some good comedic moments and performances. But the fantasy portion of the movie was below our expectation. It did not seem to do very well at the box office, the theater that we went to see it in on a Saturday afternoon was empty, so if you want to see it in a theater you better go quick because it does not look like it will be around for long.

There was a comic book called Stardust. Is this an adaptation?
