Little Lake

There is a pretty little lake about a mile from our place at Hasty Brook. I'm sure it has a real name but I've always thought of it as Little Lake.
The tamaracks were glowing along one part of the shoreline. They seem brighter on cloudy days.
I saw loon babies riding on mama's back for the first time this summer. There are only 2 house/cabins on this lake. I've nevere seen a motorized boat on it.
There is a wide spot in the road where folks fish for sunnies here. I think we'll try that next summer. Posted by Picasa

Really love that last picture - those trees are just beautiful and the colors are perfect. Don't you love lakes - any size?

You are just the luckiest chick around. What a wonderful place. Need an assistant the next time you go? I could carry bags, binoculars, the animal poop books....

These photographs make me miss the outdoors soooo much! SOOOOO much.

I grew up in southeastern Manitoba and those skies and forests look all too familiar ;)

They are really beautiful, all of them.

I love your tamarack photos! Seeing the baby loons on the backs of their mommas must have been precious! Ohhh, fishing, something to look forward to, huh?

I like the small lakes; they are the ones that are not overrun with huge "cabins" and big motors. This one looks perfect.

Of course, I kind of got into my career path because of my love of lakes. :)

LauraO- I do love lakes, especially small ones.

Susan- Gotta find a poo field guide! LOL!!

Lea- Thanks for the comment. Northern skies really are beautiful.

Pam- We are looking foreward to fishing. A worm and a bobber are just my speed!

llm- I really used to think tamaracks were just junky trees until I paid them some attention!

Deb- Small lakes are so quiet and seem to be much cleaner too.

Laura- Come see the tamaracks!

Cindy- Thanks for visiting!! I hope you can come back to Minnesota. I would love for you to "see what I see". I am flattered that you have added me to your link list- THANK YOU!!
